The ninth house, the first to be built and occupied for a decade by Jan Thorn-Prikker himself, is the most interesting in the row. Its gable with the studio window bears the so-called Lauweriks motif, a line developed out of a square pattern and bent in various directions, appears in many different variations in several details of the Lauweriks houses and gardens.

The massive initials JTP refer to the occupant.

The sculptress Milly Steger, whom Osthaus also brought to Hagen, designed a caryatid supporting the balcony of her house.
